The Photonics Research Center of the Hong Kong Polytechnic University is home to nine faculty members and over 50 research staff and students from the Department of Electrical Engineering (EE) and the Department of Electronic and Information Engineering (EIE). Enabled by state-of-the-art facilities, the Center conduct fundamental and application-oriented research on areas such as optical communications, fibre sensors, specialty fibres and optoelectronics. We provide exciting research opportunities for individuals interested to pursue a career in optics and photonics. In addition, the Photonics Research Center collaborate with industries in Hong Kong, Mainland China and beyond on new applications of light for the immediate and long-term advancements of technology.
